Mukilteo is a quaint, yet vibrant little town nestled in the trees along the waters of Possession Sound, about 25 miles north of Seattle.

Whether you are looking for a friendly place to conduct business, a beautiful neighborhood with exceptional schools where you can raise a family, or just a perfect place to spend a relaxing day, you can find it in Mukilteo.

It’s a community blessed with natural beauty, sitting amid serene woods and natural vegetation and offering panoramic views of the Sound and the snow-covered Olympic Mountains across the water. The Mukilteo Lighthouse stands proudly near the landing where ferry boats cross to Whidbey Island, adding to the picture-postcard scene that creates the magic of Mukilteo.

Mukilteo is rich in history—the Mukilteo Lighthouse celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2006—but it is also a city with a large and growing economy. It is next door to the largest building in the world in volume, the aerospace plant where Boeing builds its largest passenger jets, and it has its own share of big companies as well as small family businesses.

Something for Everyone!

The City of Mukilteo has a wonderful blend of old and new, both in its business districts and its residential neighborhoods.  “Old Town” Mukilteo is located near the waterfront and still resembles the quaint fishing town it once was.  Old Town provides the perfect setting to stroll the streets, do some shopping, stop in at one of the area’s fine restaurants for lunch or dinner and enjoy the glorious views.

The “mid-town” area of Mukilteo has many residences, and also offers an assortment of small businesses, including restaurants, retail stores, professional offices and hotels.  At the heart of mid-town is the Mukilteo Post Office, where business merchants and residents meet and greet in a friendly small-town atmosphere. 

Farther south in Mukilteo is the new Village Center, which is in the style of a European urban village.  It is a retail/commercial/residential center located in beautiful Harbour Pointe, a 2,300-acre planned community that is nearing completion and ultimately will be home for nearly 11,000 Mukilteo residents.  Also located in the Harbour Pointe area are City Hall, the Mukilteo Library, the police and fire stations, and several schools and churches.

The Mukilteo Chamber of Commerce is the voice of business in Mukilteo, working to promote business development and economic growth while providing a broad range of services to its members.  Mukilteo is at a crossroads in its history—the city is ready to launch a renovation plan that will transform the waterfront in a way that will look to the future and still preserve the past.  Lighthouse Park, a waterfront park recently acquired by the city from the state, will be vastly improved for public use.  A new train station to take commuters into Seattle is planned for the area, and the existing ferry landing will be moved and a new ferry terminal built a short distance away.  This will make way for the planned redevelopment of the waterfront, with new retail shops, restaurants and condominiums to attract new businesses, residents and visitors.  Business is definitely on the move in Mukilteo!
